California Farmers who are seeking water efficiency and energy upgrades.

Eligible system components can include soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and installation of renewable energy systems to reduce on-farm water use and energy.

Every project needs to have a flow meter installed (if there isn't an existing one), as well as Green House Gas (GHG) reductions and equipment which can produce water savings.

The CDFA currently has the SWEEP Grant on hold until the budget is resolved in Summer 2024. Once funds are appropriated, the solicitation is expected in Fall 2024.

A single entity can receive $200,000 per SWEEP solicitation and up to $600,000 across multiple solicitations.

An application must be approved before making any payments towards the project.
